About Blinking Cursor

Blinking Cursor Literary Magazine features the works of both new and established authors worldwide. The magazine is available both to purchase as a hard copy and as a free downloadable PDF.

Blinking Cursor Literary Magazine is run by Samantha Rose. That's me. Call me Sam and we'll be great. Before submitting, there's something you need to know: It's just me here. I am editor, web developer, secretary, admin, janitor, and so on. I have a full time job as a web content creator for an IT company here in England, and I work a forty hour week. I started BC when I was working part time as a checkout girl, and was also unemployed for three months, so I've had plenty of time to dedicate to BC. I have less time now, but I am absolutely still here and love getting submissions and publishing the work of all the lovely authors who email me. I don't always reply to you right away, but I always reply, so bear with me.

All of Blinking Cursor's profits are donated to Cancer Research UK. Why Cancer Research UK, you might ask? It's a great charity doing a lot of important work, and cancer is something that affects so many people - including a member of staff here at BC, not so long ago. So if you like the magazine, it would be lovely if you would buy a copy, because it's helping us all to live longer, and living is pretty cool most of the time. Besides that, cancer sucks.

Which brings me (in a roundabout way) to why we cannot offer contributor copies of magazines. And I must mention this, because it comes up quite a bit, but we unfortunately cannot offer contributor copies. This also kind of sucks a little, but even if we (I don't know why I say "we", as I said, it's just me here, but it just sounds better if I say "we") didn't donate all profits to charity, we still wouldn't have anywhere near enough money to pay for contributor copies to be printed and sent. This certainly isn't a gold mine. But it's very enjoyable, which is why I do it, and I hope you enjoy reading and submitting, too.
